Thomas Lumber Company has been family-owned and operated for four generations. The company got its start in 1927, when George W. Thomas purchased a small planing mill and cotton gin in Coal Mountain, Georgia. Sawmilling and lumber sales helped bring in business between cotton harvests. By the 1950s, cotton ginning was no longer viable and Thomas Lumber Company turned to full-time lumber production.
Over the years, Thomas Lumber Company has expanded to meet changing consumer needs. Today we manufacturer and distribute cedar lumber and other products across the Southeast, all from the location where George Thomas started his lumber and ginning operation.
